Jonathan
E. Stewart
Producer
Having grown up in the heart of Ohio just
north of Columbus, Jonathon Stewart began studying
film theory and production at Dartmouth College
in New Hampshire. After four years of watching
old movies and learning the intricacies of shooting
on antiquated Arriflex cameras and organizing
shoots with limited resources, he relocated to
Los Angeles to pursue a career in film. After
serving as a production coordinator and post supervisor
on Unleashed Pictures' "The Hiding Place"
in 1997, Stewart went on to produce and manage
over 10 projects with budgets ranging from $1,000
to over $50,000 the following year.
In
2000 and 2001, Stewart went on to direct and produce
various projects independently, including a 16mm
mockumentary short film satirizing traffic in
Los Angeles. "Traffic" went on
to show at festivals and screenings throughout
the country such as the San Antonio Underground
Festival as well as the Los Angeles based Cinenites
Competition sponsored by the Blue Studio in Hollywood.
"Traffic" won the Cinenites audience
and judges' awards for Best Short Film and for
the following year was showcased on the studio's
website.
Stewart
has gone on to direct and produce numerous commercials
and promotional videos for the spec market, both
on film and digital video, including two commercials
for Sears. At the end of 2001, he directed and
produced a short film entitled "Coconut
Curried Chicken," based loosely on a
short story by Miami based columnist Dave Barry.
In 2002, Stewart formed his own production company,
Paper Moon Films, and is currently in pre-production
on his feature directorial debut, "Guy In
Row Five" (www.whoisthesspyong.com).
Stewart is also an actor, having most recently
appeared as "Eddie" in the Cameron Diaz film,
"The Sweetest Thing," in addition
to guest starring roles on shows such as "Port
Charles" and "Post Mortem."
